Pristine reefs teamed with exotic species of fish, and year around mantas makes diving in Equator Village awe-inspiring. Divers get to see the largest dive wreck in Maldives – the British Loyalty, a historic treasure spanning 140 meters.
The British Loyalty was an old Royal Navy fuel tanker that had seen action against German U-Boats during World War II. Having been damaged beyond repair, the ship was sunk to its final resting place at the bottom of the Addu channel a half century ago. Today the wreck is an artificial reef that supports a multitude of marine life including giant wrasses, parrot fish, barracuda and grouper.
